Derrick received his real estate license while attending the University of Delaware in 1984. After graduating with a degree in Business with a Marketing Concentration he began his full time career in real estate in 1986. He has worked in most every aspect of the real estate industry and has most recently focused on residential sales in Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach, Lewes and the surrounding areas. He furthered his professional development by obtaining his broker's license in 1990 and his insurance license in 2001.
He currently holds his insurance license with Lyons Companies: a major insurance provider in the state of Delaware. Derrick was recently honored with an appointment to the board of Directors of Artisans' Bank. He is also on the board of trustees for the Rehoboth Beach Public Library and the Children's Beach House.
