Dewey Beach Music Conference

Held in September when the weather is just perfect, the music scene in one small town really revs up! Attracting artists from across America, fans and musicians alike gather in Dewey to attend performance showcases and let their true talents shine.

Greyhounds Reach The Beach in Dewey

Held every year in Dewey Beach and recently seen on ABC's national morning show "Good Morning America"! For over 10 years now, usually held in the fall, this event attracts thousands of people along with their retired racing greyhounds to the “Greyhounds Reach the Beach” weekend in Dewey Beach, DE. One highlight of the weekend includes the Greyhounds in Art original art show at The Ruddertowne Complex.

Annual Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival

Baking contest, for professionals and amateurs, plus sample tastings held in March at Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. It's a chocolate lover's delight.

University of Delaware Coast Day

Held at the University of Delaware (Hugh R. Sharp) Lewes Campus at 700 Pilottown Road in Lewes. Coast Day offers something for everyone. Visitors enjoy hands-on exhibits, lectures on popular science topics, ship and laboratory tours, crab races, a crab cake cook-off, seafood cooking demonstrations, a boat show, and much more.

Annual Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival

A great mix of films to enjoy. It has grown to be a premiere November, Mid-Atlantic cultural event. The five-day Festival now showcases approximately 100 of the best American and international films including features, documentaries, and shorts.

World Championship Punkin' Chunkin'

That's right, I said world championship! Truly an event you can't miss, held the first weekend after Haloween so we can git rid of all these punkins! Now with a new location in Bridgeville.

Annual Sea Witch & Fiddlers Festival

Rehoboth Beach Autumn Jazz Festival

If you love Jazz then this is the festival for you. You wont want to miss out with past acts like The Miracles, The Neville Brothers, Queen Latifah, Dionne Warwick, Gerald Veasley and his band. Rehoboth Beach Hometown Christmas Parade

It is always held the first Monday in December along Rehoboth Avenue featuring local marching bands, local groups, floats etc. It's a great time for little ones and the young at heart.

Annual John Milton Memorial Celebration of Poets and Poetry

An exciting gathering of local and nationally known poets and lovers of poetry in historic downtown Milton.

Summer

Annual Rehoboth July 4th Fireworks

Take the shuttle from Route 1 and get a good seat on the beach or boardwalk. Although it is spectacular, this event is funded entirely through your donations! Enjoy the beach weather on a patriotic night.

Fishing License & Fees

All fishing licenses and permits are issue by the State of Delaware's Division of Fish & Wildlife. Anyone over 65 years of age does not need a permit. For those who do, permits generally run between $10 to $20 dollars for the year. Crabbing and clamming require a license as well. See Delaware Fishing License Requirements »

To drive on the Delaware beaches

Driving on the Beach Only surf fisherman with a surf fishing permit, are allowed to drive onto the beach. This grants you a license plate and sticker to gain access to the beach entrances. You vehicle must have 7 inches clearance. Permits are in effect year round.

Permit regulations are strictly enforced. While on the beach you must keep in mind:

Permit holders must actively be involved in fishing at all times.
Fishing gear must be present: bait, tackle, pole.
Do not cross the dunes. Ever. Period. Traffic kills the beach grass that stabilizes the dunes that protect our coastline. Only cross at designated areas.
For safety, each and every vehicle must carry:
- low-pressure tire gauge
- tow rope/chain
- board
- jack
- shovel

Note: Violations can result in $25 to $250 fines for a first offense and twice that for a second!
