Tell us a bit about the history and mission of Mod Cottage!
We opened in Spring 2008 and wanted to bring an upscale offering of gifts and coastal decor to residents and visitors of Rehoboth Beach. We also wanted to provide an upbeat atmosphere with friendly customer service. Area rugs, bedding, and bath linens are also a big part of our business. When we first opened, we did not carry baby gifts, but as our customers have become parents and grandparents, that department gets bigger every year!
What are your feelings about the current Summer 2021 season?
Summer 2021 has been a busy season, with many visitors coming in after not being here last year. It has been wonderful reconnecting with our long-time customers. There is definitely a pent-up demand for in-store shopping and retail therapy!
Tell us about one of the amazing products from your inventory!
Our welcome mats, which we have made in Maine, are big sellers! Made from lobster-pot ropes, they are durable and sun-resistant, and our customers love them. They range from $89 to $105.
