91 ANCHOR ROAD
From the main living areas and decks of this beautifully-situated, very private, and spacious home in North Shores, Rehoboth Beach, you have extraordinary views of the Lewes/Rehoboth canal, wetlands, and Henlopen State Park. Enjoy spectacular sunsets from the "great room" (combined kitchen, living, and dining room area with a 30 foot ceiling), rear deck, screened porch, ground floor playroom, and master bedroom. The private community beach, swimming pool (summer only) tennis courts, and marina are just a short walk away, and the glorious new bike/ jogging path from Gordon's Pond through the wetlands to Lewes is conveniently nearby. The house, designed by prize-winning architect Anthony Barnes from Washington D.C., has five separate deck areas, two of which are fully enclosed for children, multiple common areas, a Jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom, high speed wireless internet, 3 Smart TV's with expanded cable, in-wall speakers, bumper pool table, free use of bikes, and many other amenities. This house works best for one or two families with children and/or grandchildren of any age, or for a group of older or younger adults coming to enjoy beautiful views of water and wildlife, along with tennis, boating, golf, swimming, beach walks, biking, and exploring all the wonderful features of the larger Rehoboth Beach community. North Shores is a quiet residential community with a 24/7 security patrol and a private beach (with life guards from Memorial Day through Labor Day). The beach is a short walk from the house, but renters who prefer not to walk or bike may park for free at a lot directly across the street from the beach next to the community swimming pool. This is an easy way to get to the beach if you are bringing equipment. North Shores has an ideal location between the Rehoboth boardwalk and Henlopen State Park. You can walk south for one mile along the beach from North Shores to the center of Rehoboth, with its boardwalk and wide array of restaurants and shops. Teenagers can easily get to the boardwalk and back on their own by foot or bike. Or you can head north, where five miles of undeveloped beach and the recently-completed secluded bike and walking path, lead to the lovely town of Lewes. A 10 minute car ride brings you to the extensive, tax-free, discount outlet stores on Route 1. Free outdoor concerts and other musical events are held during the summer season at the Bandstand on Rehoboth Avenue. During the fall, enjoy the Jazz Festival (October), Sea Witch Halloween and Fiddler Festival (October), and Rehoboth Film Festival (November). The Gordon's Pond Trail, a four minute bike ride from the house, is located in Henlopen State Park and skirts the western side of Gordon's Pond, a 900-acre salt water lagoon. With its finely crushed gravel pathway, the trail is great for biking, jogging, or walking, and winds through coastal maritime forest, grassy marshes and sandy dunes. The trail is popular with bird watchers as it is located on one of four migration "super highways" in North America. The trail's northern end includes a half-mile elevated boardwalk over wetlands with observation areas to enjoy the surroundings. ================================================================================ PRAISE FROM SOME PREVIOUS RENTERS: "We've rented four houses: 5-6 years each on land and beach sides of Ocean Drive... 91 Anchor is the best house we've rented -- good design and layout, nice rooms, decks, porches and quiet... The house has the most spectacular setting and views of anything we've rented or visited -- hands down. It has the best gas grill we've ever encountered at a rental property; use of the bicycles is great."
