Fantastic waterfront townhouse overlooking Lewes Beach. This year-round, fully equipped townhome sleeps 8 and features fabulous views of the Delaware Bay from the entire first floor and second floor balcony. Follow the short sand footpath or boardwalk to the beach. Sip your morning coffee with your feet in the saltwater. Beach chairs and umbrellas are included for a relaxing day on the beach. Grab a stand-up paddle board (2 included) or kayak (one and two-person included) from under the house and head out on the bay. Do not be surprised if you spot a pod of dolphins passing through. Lewes beach is great for children and adults alike. On a typical day, swimming in the bay is relaxing and without the stress of ocean waves and rip currents. The shallow waters and sand bars that emerge during low tide are full of wildlife, including sand crabs, hermit crabs, conchs, and fish, among others, and provide hours of entertainment. Take the kids on a 10 minute walk down the beach to Dairy Queen or head in the other direction and watch the arrival of the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. Teenagers and adults enjoy a walk across the street to East of Maui Surf Shop for beach accessories and rentals. Take a short bike ride into Cape Henlopen State Park (about a mile away) to enjoy swimming in the ocean or fishing off the pier. Take a longer bike ride (45 min- 1hour on a beach cruiser) on the scenic Gordons Pond Trail to the Rehoboth Beach. The community of Pilot Point has two tennis courts available on a first come, first served basis. Additional public courts are available in Lewes. End the day with happy hour and snacks while watching a fabulous sunset from the second floor balcony. Prepare a family dinner in the enormous gourmet kitchen and enjoy your meal at the ten-person table looking out over the water. Outdoor Weber gas and charcoal grills are included. Cooking not in your plans? Head into quaint downtown Lewes and visit its fine restaurants and shops (less than 5 minutes away by car/Uber, 15 minute walk). If you visit during the Fourth of July, enjoy the old fashioned festivities in downtown Lewes in the morning and watching the fireworks display set off from a barge behind the townhouse at dusk.
