Melinda Ingram is a native of Sussex County, Delaware and has been a full-time sales agent for 15 years. She has steadily grown her business each year while working with both buyers and sellers. Highly respected in her field, she was designated a Five Star Real Estate Agent by Five Star Professional from 2016 to 2024.
In May 2014, Melinda was provided the opportunity to join Jack Lingo, REALTOR'S® Rehoboth Beach office. Her late grandfather was a builder in Sussex County for over 50 years and helped to build part of the original Jack Lingo, REALTOR® office building on Rehoboth Avenue. He also developed many of the communities situated along Coastal Highway and on the east side of Route 1 in Lewes. He taught Melinda everything she knows about real estate and the local market, and she sincerely believes he would have wanted her to be part of the Jack Lingo, REALTOR® team.
Melinda was born in Milton, the town in which her mother's family has lived since the early 1920s. Her father and his parents are from the Lewes and Harbeson areas. Melinda has traced her Delaware roots back to the late 17th century, when her family farmed land on Prettyman Road. With such a rich family history in the area, she has always felt at home in Coastal Delaware. She left for a brief time to attend college at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She graduated in 2000 with a degree in communications and media studies. Upon graduating from college in 2000, she immediately moved back home to begin her career.
Before pursuing her real estate license, Melinda worked at her family's local furniture business in Lewes for almost five years. She has focused most of her real estate business on residential sales. As a local, however, she also possesses an extensive knowledge of the regional commercial market. She takes time to show each of her buyers the area to help them get a genuine feel for the local lifestyle. Her sellers choose to list with her because she communicates well, listens to their needs, and responds promptly to their requests. I highly, highly recommend Melinda. My Mom and I were selling her Delaware home and we both live in New York. I thought I could manage this monumental task myself and initially listed Mom's house as a FSBO. Melinda was one of the Realtors who had a potential buyer. When that didn't work out, because she was so fantastic we hired her to sell the house for us!! From the beginning, she was responsive, helpful, and so knowledgeable! She is exactly what you want and need in a Realtor. It never felt like she was not right there with us the entire time; emailing us showing updates, market happenings, etc. If I could give her 10 stars I would!!!! Thank you Melinda and Molly!
This review is extremely late, but much overdue for the excellent professionalism and beyond shown us when purchasing our home in Harbeson. A friend who is a realtor in NJ found Melinda Ingram for us and it was the perfect match! We moved from out of state, like a lot of new homeowners here, but our move was over 5,000 miles...we moved from Maui to Harbeson.
We emailed Melinda in January, 2020 with our "wish list" and she immediately replied with over 30 listings! We narrowed it down to a few, and one in particular. Melinda went above and beyond and provided us with her very own video tour of the home. We were "sold" and I flew to Delaware to take a look firsthand. Melinda's attention to our needs was exceptional and spot on. She was so attentive to our needs and didn't try to show us listings that weren't a match to our wish list. We closed on our home in March but unfortunately due to COVID we weren't able to move in until June. During that 3 month period Melinda kept in close contact with us informing us of the states health regulations, etc, took in our mail, checked on the house, oversaw a fence installation and much much more! Melinda's knowledge of the area is extensive and first hand adding to her ability to answer any and all questions we threw at her. She truly is a gem and valuable asset to the Lingo team and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking to purchase or rent in Sussex County.

Throughout my adult years, I have had the experience of purchasing a few different houses. Melinda has been there every step of the way. She has always answered every call or email no matter what time of day or night it was. Her professionalism, knowledge, honesty, and hard work ethic are much appreciated. With a limited budget and a specific location Melinda worked with us for close to 5 years and with her help we were able to find a great place that fit our needs and budget.
